May newsletter

WHAT WAS I THINKING? I've been so busy lately, I haven't been keeping on top of things. This is a little late, but we are moving our member meeting to June 1 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Therefore the info for next month will be a little late. We are just having open studio time next month with a possibility of having Mary's other class on one of those dates. We will send the info to members about the Rotunda show sometime this next week via email.

Here's the BELATED newsletter, so most of this info is old. However, I want to keep the blog so people can see what we've done, too.

Murfreesboro Art League Newsletter
May 2015

We’re BAAAACK! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is that time of year when we kick start our gallery season. Check out the web site later this week for an updated photo collection of some of the works we are highlighting in our new spring/summer show. The gallery will be open on Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays from 1-4. We’ve decided to keep the gallery open whether they are having a wedding in Cannonsburgh or not. We’ll be passing the calendar and/or calling to fill those volunteer spots. Remember, it takes ALL of us to make this run smoothly. We don’t want a FEW people to get burned out.

May Classes -  Mary Veazie will be teaching landscapes in oils. Please bring your own supplies and plan to arrive about 10 minutes early, so we will have time to set up and not interrupt the class. Please RSVP to Suzanne if you plan to attend. We’d like to keep this class size to 10-12.

Artists of the month Claire Smith will be our Linebaugh Library artist of the month. Phyllis Razo will be our gallery artist of the month. Check them out.
Art Classes: Some of the art teachers have decided to go with extra classes, so if you are interested, contact them. Mary Miller Veazie has classes on Friday morning and has added new TUESDAY classes, and Gayle Levee will be teaching oil, acrylic or water-mixable oil starting THIS Saturday. We are also adding watercolor classes by Carol Curtis. See our blog (murfreesboroartleague.blogspot.com) for more information on contacting these fabulous teachers for these more IN-DEPTH classes OR contact Suzanne.
