Our third Monday night meeting of the year is our “Eatin’ & Greetin’” on January 29th. Come join us for good company and to catch up since we have all been so busy. Bring a finger food or snack and if you wish, any of your art work that you would like to share with the group.
Starting February the 3rd (a Saturday) is DEMOLITION day – taking off pegboard. So, February the 5th, Monday, we will NOT meet that night. Watch for emails for further closings!!!
Finally, dues are due – Regular is $45, Seniors are $35, and students are $20. See application for further information.

Murfreesboro Art League
NOTE: The gallery is closed to the public on weekends until mid April 2018 but we will be open on Monday nights 7:00 to 9:00 pm for classes or open studio unless notified by email otherwise! . The gates will be open for parking in the Cannonsburg Village on Monday nights. Do not park on any sidewalk or inner circle so fire truck can get through. Don’t park past end of garden, so fire truck can get to the hydrant. Thanks!
>DUES ARE DUE - $45 regular, $35 senior, $20 student, Lifetime members - $500.
>The Gallery is open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, and 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday from May through November. Member Sign-up sheets available at Gallery!! Also, send email to Suzanne at Suzanne.email@example.com who maintains Google Sheets document to sign up as well.
> The gates are now always closed when Canonsburg is closed. Someone from the Murfreesboro Art League (Mark) will open the gates thirty minutes before any scheduled meetings like the Monday night meetings and renovation schedules. Be prompt since Mark (or another person) stays at the gates to keep others out-AFTER THE SET TIME, THE GATES ARE CLOSED EVEN TO WALK IN TRAFFIC WHEN CANNONSBURGH IS CLOSED.
>The business meeting was held on January 22, 2018 with seven attending the board meeting and six attending the regular business meeting. Items discussed are in this newsletter. See minutes for further details.
> The only regular meeting in January was on the 15th due to snowy weather.
>February and March meetings will be scheduled around the renovation of our space. Watch for emails from the art league.
>January 29th is our “Eatin & Greetin” meeting, so bring food/snack and come join us. Visitors are Welcome!!!
>The Building Renovation meeting took place on Wednesday, January 24th at Barnes & Noble. The prices were reviewed (including a new water heater), carpet sample was selected and other issues. On Saturday, February 3rd, we start the renovation at Cannonsburg for our space. Mark will open the gates at 8:30 am and close them at 9:00 am at which time construction (or destruction!) will begin and work until 4:00 pm (food?). Bring goggles, gloves, masks, cleaning supplies?, hammers & other tools you think may be needed.
>The Plein Air Painters & Cowboy Gathering planning meeting is scheduled for February 7th at 1:00 pm at Linebaugh Library on 2nd floor conference room.
>The Mitchell Neilsen School “We Love the Arts” event is scheduled for February 15th. Set up will be from 2:30 to 3:00 pm and the display opens at 6:00 pm – no one allowed in hallways between 5:30 and 6:00 pm.

>Our new interim Vice President is Kathleen Philips for 2018 since Norma Holden has illness in her family and will be unavailable for an indeterminate time. Please send Norma’s husband get well wishes.
>Cannonsburgh Village has asked us to sign a Provision of Services since we have not had one updated in a long time. See the Newsletter for more details.
>Cannonsburgh also prepared a Cooperative Use Agreement for the Plein Air Painting & Cowboy Gathering to take place at Cannonsburg Village on October 5, 6th, and 7th . See the Newsletter for more details.
>Linebaugh Library Artist are as follows:
Jaunary is Mark Jackson, February is Suzanne LeBeau, March is Kylee Harrison, April is Ted Stanley, May is Reba Hinkle, June is Kathleen Phillips, August is Joe Cole.
>Featured Artist at Gallery have not been determined – Due to renovation, late April will be the first date for hanging paintings unless the renovation is completed early. We will keep you informed.

The Monday night, Jan. 8, 2018 meeting has been cancelled due to lack of building access. Mark will have a key beginning Jan. 15, 2018 to let everyone in - so be on time. Gates will close at 7:00 and no one can enter after the gates are closed. This is an open studio night. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone and are excited about upcoming events, so join us for the fun and comrade of our art!

The Murfreesboro Art League is gearing up for a fantastic year. First, the building will get a new look during February thru March 2018, so bear with any construction in process.Second, we will be hosting the "Plein Air Paint Out & Cowboy Gathering on October 5th - 7th, 2018.
Please come and help with planning, preparing, and doing these events!
Our first REGULAR meeting begins on January 8, 2018 at 7 - 9 pm. See the event calendar for 2018. Please bring your art to work on and share, and enjoy the comrade of the group. We meet every Monday night at 7:00 pm at the back of Cannonsburgh Village unless otherwise noted. The gates will open at 6:30 pm to drive to the back. Hope to see you at our meetings!
On January 4th at 3:00 pm at the Linebaugh Library, members will be planning the "Plein Air Paint Out & Cowboy Gathering". WE NEED ALL THE HELP OUR MEMBERS CAN GIVE US OR ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING!
On January 17th, at 6:00 pm at Barnes and Noble at the Avenue off Medical Center Drive, we will meet to discuss building renovations to begin in February on Saturdays. Again, we need all the help we can get to give the Gallery a new look. Thanks for everyone who participates in these tasks!
